You haven’t experienced anything until you’ve felt the rush of swimming in a pool of spaghetti noodles, getting slimed in a parking lot, racing down hallways with scooters while being chased with waterguns or maybe you’ve always wanted to be involved in a Hershey’s Syrup War! Well, that’s what we did this fall at KidVenture when we “Experienced the Extreme!” KidVenture meet from September to March each year and then we take the summer off to enjoy some outdoor adventures including Summer Camps, Vacation Bible School and a few extra activities. KidVenture meets Wednesday’s from 3:30-5 p.m. and transportation is available from Guthrie schools. Call Natalie Hardin, children’s minister to set up a ride. What are some of the fun things we do, while learning about God’s word?
Camp Yuck!
Slime Week – “My Words Matter to God” and slimy words hurt. Check out the verse in Psalms 19:14
When Yum Becomes a Yuck Week – We had a swimming pool full of candy but quickly realized that too much of a good thing is TOO MUCH! Check out the verse in Ecclesiastes 3:1 and find out what God says about balance.
Demolition Week – We talked about “tearing down walls” between ourselves and others.” Does God like it when we build up walls. Check out I Samuel 16:7b.
Hershey Syrup War Week – It’s hard to obey and do what’s right. Life has temptations. What tempts you? It sure was tempting to get messy this week. So we put on the full armor of God as we went into battle. Check out what the full armor of God looks like in this scripture: Ephesians 6:10-17.
Slopstical Week – Life is full of distractions and things can get in your way. So what does God ask you to do?2 Thessalonians 3:13 has the answer!
Kid’s Worship!
4 year olds through 2nd Graders –
Come join us during worship and experience scripture in a hands-on approach. We sing, laugh, play, do crafts and explore God’s Word in a way that children become fully engaged in learning scripture. Children leave following the Children’s Sermon in the worship service and then parents can pick them up on the first floor of our Education Wing.
